Antique Rococo-style Sofa Restoration
Project Overview
Frame and webbing carefully repaired, original carving preserved, and the piece re-covered in period-appropriate silk-blend damask.
This antique Rococo-style Sofa came from a family collection with a fragile frame, brittle webbing, and fabric that had degraded badly with age. Given its sentimental and heritage value, our team took extra care during disassembly, repairing veneer damage and replacing the internal webbing and springs while preserving the original wood carving.
The piece was re-covered in a silk-blend damask that echoes the era of the original design, bringing the chaise back into daily use without losing the character that made it worth restoring in the first place.
