Modern Modular Sofa Transformation — Dubai Marina Apartment

Dubai Marina apartments are known for open-plan living, but this client’s old L-shaped sofa blocked the flow between kitchen and balcony. The original piece was structurally weak, and the fabric had pilling from years of daily use.

We redesigned the sofa as a four-piece modular system. Each section can be rearranged independently, so the client can switch between a long sofa facing the TV and a conversation layout facing the balcony. The frame was rebuilt in solid beech, and we added hidden storage under two seats for throws and cushions.

The new upholstery is a heavyweight linen in warm taupe — a colour that works with the apartment’s neutral palette and doesn’t show daily wear. We also added removable covers for easy cleaning.
