How Often Will It Be Used?
The right sofa bed depends entirely on how often it’s used as a bed:
- Guest room sofa (used weekly) — three-fold mechanism with a proper spring or memory foam mattress. Best comfort, higher cost.
- Occasional guest bed (used monthly) — two-fold mechanism with HR foam mattress. Good balance of comfort and cost.
- Emergency sleepover (used a few times a year) — click-clack or trundle mechanism. Simplest, most affordable.
We advise honestly on which mechanism suits your usage. There’s no point paying for a three-fold premium mechanism if it’s only opened twice a year.
Sofa Bed Mechanisms We Use
- Two-fold — the mattress folds in half inside the sofa. Most common. Requires less depth. Works well for medium-use guest beds.
- Three-fold — the mattress folds into three sections. Allows a thicker mattress, so better sleep comfort. Requires more depth in the sofa frame.
- Click-clack — the backrest folds flat, and the seat becomes the sleeping surface. Simplest mechanism, lowest cost. Suited to occasional use.
- Trundle — a second mattress on a slide-out frame under the main sofa. Keeps two single beds or one double when extended.
- Corner pull-out — L-shaped sofa with a pull-out bed hidden in one section. Ideal for apartments where the sofa is also the main guest bed.
Mattresses — Where Most Sofa Beds Fail
Most sofa bed mattresses sold in Dubai are 8–10cm of cheap foam that flattens within a year. We use:
- High-density HR foam — 12–15cm thick, resilient, holds shape. Good for medium-use beds.
- Pocket spring — 15–18cm thick, best comfort. For weekly-use guest beds.
- Memory foam top layer — optional upgrade for premium comfort on top of HR or spring base.
Every mattress is cut to the exact dimensions of the sofa bed frame, so it fits properly and folds cleanly.

- Single sofa bed — 90cm × 190cm mattress. Common for study or guest rooms.
- Double sofa bed — 140cm × 190cm mattress. Standard guest bed.
- Queen sofa bed — 150cm × 200cm mattress. Best for weekly use.
- Custom sizes — if your room needs a non-standard dimension, we build to your measurements.
